Who we are

You know how they say great oaks from little acorns grow? We went the other way. We take bigger, often overlooked things — thick offcuts of leather, hefty stones, generous sheets of paper — and pare them back into small, useful, beautiful pieces.

A keyring carved from the leftover strap of a saddle. A pendant cut from a slab of marble meant for the mantel. A hand-stitched notebook made from the margin of a larger hide. Each tiny item carries the weight and story of its origin: the grain of the leather, the veining of the stone, the slight imperfection that makes it unmistakably human-made.

Making small from big is a careful art. It’s about respecting material, finding potential where others see waste, and treating every scrap as an opportunity. The result is compact, durable objects with personality — practical enough for everyday use, considered enough to be kept.

They’re not merely downsized versions of larger things. They’re purposeful: a slim wallet that fits just what you need, a pair of studs that whisper rather than shout, a pocket notebook that’s been pared and polished until it fits perfectly into your life.

This is our kind of sustainability — creative, deliberate, and tactile. Little things that hold a lot: stories, history, and the quiet satisfaction of something well made.

It takes a great deal of time and preparation to go from natural raw stone to something cut and polished.

Each piece begins as rough, unremarkable rock pulled from the earth. We study its colour, texture and flaws, mapping out the best way to reveal its character without wasting its beauty. Cutting is deliberate and restrained: we choose angles that enhance colour play and stability, and we remove only what must go to expose the gem within.

Polishing is where patience matters most. Layers of abrasive, applied in ever-finer grades, coax out a surface that reflects light and reveals depth. For some stones this can take hours; for others, days of careful attention. Throughout, we test repeatedly, clean, inspect and adjust until the surface catches the eye in just the right way.

The outcome — a stone set into a handmade pendant or keyring — carries those hours of labour and judgment. Each finished piece is not merely pretty; it is the result of careful decision-making, respect for the material and a steady hand that turned raw potential into lasting beauty.
